Size and Strength
Male moose, called bulls, can stand up to 6.5 feet (2 meters) tall at the shoulder and weigh over 1,500 pounds (680 kilograms). That’s about the size of a small car! They have long legs that help them move easily through deep snow and wetlands, and a distinctive hump on their shoulders.

Moose Calves
Baby moose, or calves, are born ready to take on the world. They weigh around 30 pounds (14 kilograms) and can stand and walk on their first day! While they’re quick learners, they still need their mother’s protection to stay safe from predators like wolves and bears.
-
Antlers
Every year, male moose grow huge, spreading antlers that can reach up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) wide. These antlers are used to show off to other moose and compete with other males during the mating season.

Herbivores and Swimmers
Moose are herbivores, feeding on leaves, twigs, and aquatic plants. They’re also skilled swimmers and often wade into water to reach plants that other animals can’t get to.

Speed and Strength
Despite their size, moose are fast! They can run up to 35 miles per hour (56 kilometers per hour). Although full-grown moose don’t have many predators, they’re always ready to protect themselves if needed.
